Texting While Driving Extremely Dangerous
Posted on Wednesday, July 29th, 2009 at 6:57 am
A recent study came out that further confirmed the dangers presented to motorists on the road when texting while driving. The study followed individuals over a longer period of time than more traditional studies in hopes of getting more accurate data.
The study found that individuals who text while driving are nearly 23 times more likely to be in a vehicular accident. This study confirms the dangers that cell phone use and texting can have on individuals while driving. The distraction that occurs takes the focus off the road leading to many accidents.

Motorcycle Accidents at High Levels
Posted on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009 at 7:18 am
Wisconsin has had a number of motorcycle accidents that have claimed nearly 50 lives so far this year. The number of individuals killed so far since the start of the year is at a recent high.
The number of deaths from motorcycle accidents have many experts worried. The recent increase in deaths that has occurred is in reverse of the national average. Motorcycle fatalities have been dropping for many years now across the nation.
The experts agree that a step that would decrease the number of deaths would be proper enforcement of helmet laws and the use of helmets by all riders. If helmets were properly worn by many riders, thousands of lives would be saved across America each year.

Personal Water Crafts Banned in Some Locations
Posted on Wednesday, July 8th, 2009 at 4:58 am
Over the 4th of July holiday, many lakes banned the use of personal water crafts. The ban came from fears of overcrowded lakes. With many boats and personal water crafts sharing the waters, the chance for accidents was very high. This led to many agencies to issue the ban in hopes of protecting individuals.
The size and speed that many of the personal water crafts can achieve make them very dangerous during crowded times. They are more difficult to judge by boaters because of their size and speed.

At least 5 motorcycles were involved in a traffic accident on Friday near Stoughton. The Wisconsin State Patrol arrived at the scene of the accident and emergency officials were called to take the injured to the hospital.
A large international motorcycle group was riding together when the accident occurred. Traffic slowed in front of the group, causing a chain reaction. Individuals were not able to react in time, which caused one accident after another.
Officials investigating the incident state that the riders were too close to each other. The officials also state that no one with the group were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
