Johnson & Johnson has announced a recall of three children's cold and flu medications.

According to the New Jersey-based company, the recall involves Children's Benadryl Allergy Fastmelt Tablets, Junior Strength Motrin Caplets, and Extra Strength Rolaids softchews. The healthcare giant said the recall is at a wholesale and retail level. The company said it found unspecified problems related to Benadryl and Motrin products.

The Rolaids were recalled after consumer reports that the softchews had an unusual texture. J&J said the texture was traced to crystallized sugar.

The company recalled a total of 4 million packages of cherry and grape Benadryl tablets, 800,000 Motrin caplets, and 71,000 caplets of Extra Strenght Rolaids.

The company said the medicine still works, despite the problems, and no further action is required on the consumer level.

Eight vehicles were involved in four separate accidents within minutes of each other on the Bridge Street bridge in Wausau Wednesday evening.

According to officials with the Wausau Police Department, three two-vehicle accidents occurred in the eastbound lanes of Bridge Street, and another in the westbound lane, shortly after 5:00 p.m. Police Capt. Dwayne Dachel said he was not sure what caused the first accident.

Lt. Mark Pankow said the first accident distracted drivers. "People were not attentive and there was quite a bit of traffic," Pankow said. "People were looking at the accidents instead of looking at the road."

A Salvation Army worker, 18 year-old Brandon Aston, said he could hear cars colliding down the road. "I don't know how you get this many at once," Aston said. "People just need to pay more attention when they drive."

The four accidents resulted in one injury. A woman sustained minor injuries when her face struck a steering wheel during a collision, Dachel said. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

An auto accident in Wausau County Thursday sent one man to the hospital.

According to Wisconsin State Patrol trooper David Lutze, police and rescue personnel were called to a crash between two trucks on Highway F at Berlin Lane shortly after 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Lutze says a man driving a flat-bed truck was traveling south on Berlin Lane entered a controlled intersection and was hit by an eastbound pickup truck on Highway F. The driver of the flat-bed said he did not see any other vehicles before moving through the intersection.

The driver of the pickup was pinned inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by rescue personnel. He was transported by helicopter to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for treatment. Information on the nature or extent of his injuries was not available.

The driver of the flat-bed truck was not injured in the accident, Lutze said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol. No citations have been issued in relation to the accident.
