One sent to hospital after rollover car accident

One man was injured after a rollover car accident occurred in West Salem in the early morning hours of Thursday.

The 20-year-old man was traveling down Bergum Coulee Road when he was involved in a rollover car accident that left him trapped in his vehicle. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the man's leg was out of the car, but the rest of his body was still in the car.

He was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries, but his current condition is unknown. Officials are still investigating what caused the accident at this time.

One injured in four-vehicle collision

Four vehicles were involved in a collision in Collinsville around 6 pm on Wednesday.

A Collinsville police officer was driving through the intersection of Keebler Avenue and Belt Line Road when a 51-year-old man turned from Belt Line Road onto Keebler, crashing into the officer's squad car. The officer's vehicle was pushed into a stopped car on the opposite side of the road, which was then forced into the vehicle behind it. In all, four vehicles were involved in the accident.

According to Illinois State Police, the man who crashed into the officer's squad car was cited in the crash. The police officer sustained minor injuries in the accident, and was transported to Maryville's Anderson Hospital for treatment. No others were injured in the collision.
