Man Charged with 5th DUI After Wausau Car Accident

A man was charged Monday with his fifth drunken drivingoffense after a Wausau car accident Saturday night.

According to officials with the Wausau Police Department, 45year-old Jeffrey W. Dahl is accused of driving his pickup truck into the backof a Jeep stopped at a red light at the intersection of Grand Avenue and EastThomas Street shortly after 10:45 p.m. Saturday. Police say the driver of theJeep called 911, reported that the driver of the pickup truck left the sceneand gave dispatchers a description of the suspect vehicle.

The driver of the jeep was not injured in the accident.

Dahl was charged Monday in Marathon County Circuit Courtwith fifth-offense drunken driving, bail jumping, and leaving the scene of acrash.  Dahl’s next court appearance isscheduled for May 26.
