One Injured in Aviation Accident in Antigo

One person was injured in a small plane crash in Antigo lastnight.

According to officials with the Langlade County Sheriff’sOffice, the aviation accident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m. Sunday at theLanglade County Airport. Witnesses and responding deputies said that a QuickSilver Mx Ultra Lite aircraft crashed on the runway.

According to a Langlade County Sheriff’s Office pressrelease, the 31 year-old male pilot was transported by helicopter to AspirusHospital in Wausau for treatment. No information on the nature or extent of hisinjuries was available.

The FAA was notified of the crash, but will not handle theinvestigation because ultralite aircraft are not regulated by the agency.
