Posted on Wednesday, July 20th, 2011 at 6:01 am

A man was injured in a Wausau motorcycle accident Saturday

According to officials with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s
Department, the motorcyclist was traveling on Highway CC at the time of the
accident. Witnesses say he attempted to slow down for a deer crossing the
roadway, but was unable to stop in time. The auto accident occurred shortly
after 9:00 p.m.

The man was found in the roadway with severe injuries. He
was transported by ground ambulance to Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in
Tomahawk for treatment. He was later airlifted to Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

The driver’s identity is being with held pending
notification of his family members. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be
factors in the auto accident, according to a news release from the Lincoln
County Sheriff’s Department.
