$100K Slip and Fall Lawsuit Filed in Texas

Posted on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011 at 3:11 am

A slip and fall lawsuit has been filed against the Young Men’s
Business League of Beaumont Texas.

According to Jefferson County District Court documents,
Sammie Serio filed the slip and fall lawsuit on July 19. The lawsuit claims
that Serio slipped and fell while attending a Young Men’s Business League fair
due to the organization’s failure to “properly construct and maintain seating
facilities.” In his lawsuit, Serio alleged the Young Men’s Business League
negligently failed to maintain its premises and remedy the dangerous condition.

The lawsuit does not state when or how the incident
occurred. Serio is seeking more than $100,000 in damages. He is suing for his
alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment,
disfigurement, and low wages, in addition to all court costs.

Judge Milton Shuffield has been assigned to the case. A
preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 30.
