Halloween night could lead to pedestrian accidents

Posted on Monday, October 31st, 2011 at 5:36 pm

Pedestrian accidents occur more often at night. This Halloween it is important to be aware of your surroundings so that accidents can be avoided.

There were 59,000 pedestrians injured in the U.S. in 2009 due to car accidents. Of those 59,000 that were hurt, 4,900 died. Between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. these accidents take place more frequently. Popular trick-or-treating hours this Halloween are said to be during 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Therefore, drivers need to be cautious on the roads during that time.

Parents should share with their children different ways to stay safe while trick-or-treating. Children should be paying attention in crosswalks and should only walk on sidewalks in the neighborhoods. Dimly lit areas need to be avoided and reflective clothing should be worn.

Put safety first this Halloween.

Pedestrian accidents are extremely dangerous for the pedestrians involved. If you have been the victim of a pedestrian accident, please contact the Wausau personal injury lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C. by calling 800-242-2874 today.
