Wausau man receives sixth drunk driving offense

Posted on Wednesday, November 30th, 2011 at 7:25 pm

A crash that took place on Thanksgiving night left one man receiving his sixth drunk driving charge. The 37-year-old Wausau man was driving late Thursday night when he crashed his vehicle into a police officer’s car. The squad car was nearly totaled and the officer inside suffered minor injuries.

The officer could tell that the man had been drinking when he approached his vehicle. While one police officer was checking on the injured officer, the Wausau man fled from his car and the scene of the accident.

The man ultimately decided to turn himself into the police and was then charged with his sixth drunk driving offense.
