Four people have died after the car they were traveling in struck a utility pole near Madison, Wisconsin.
The car accident happened around 5 p.m. on Saturday in Fitchburg. There were five men in the car, all apparently under the influence of alcohol. The 18-year-old driver sped through a stop sign and hit a utility pole. The force from the pole caused the car to flip over.
The driver was the only survivor of the accident, and he tried to flee the scene. He was apprehended a few blocks away and was arrested. He is being charged with four counts of homicide due to driving under the influence.
The four men that were killed in the accident range in age from 17 to 25, and were all from Wisconsin.
Our thoughts go out to the victims’ families and friends during this tragic time.

Four children along with their parents and another driver suffered injuries due to a car accident on Wisconsin 213 in Rock County.
The accident happened around 5:00 p.m. on Sunday night near Orfordville. The mother of the four children was driving their vehicle when she was unable to retain control. Her car slid into oncoming traffic on Wisconsin 213 making contact with a separate vehicle, which was being driven by a 26-year-old Middleton man.
All seven of the people involved in the car accident were injured. Authorities believe that ice and snow as well as accelerated speeds were responsible for the accident. Alcohol is considered to not be a factor in this crash and the investigation is still underway.

For the fourth year in a row, there have been less than 600 traffic-related fatalities in Wisconsin. The last time this happened in the state was between 1924 and 1927.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation recently released the information regarding the 2011 traffic fatalities. Throughout the year, 569 individuals lost their lives in traffic crashes. This number is drastically lower than the five-year average of fatalities.
The traffic crashes accounted for in these statistics include vehicle crashes as well as pedestrian and bicycle accidents. The state is pleased with the declining number, but many officials believe there is more that can be done to reduce the number of preventable fatalities across the state.

Wisconsin has a large population of deer and it has already been determined that accidents involving these animals are on the rise this year.
The last two years have shown a steady increase in accidents and fatalities resulting from contact with deer. The month of November is a dangerous time for these accidents because mating season for deer is in full swing. Deer are constantly in motion during this time and it is up to drivers to stay safe on the roads.
Over 16,900 accidents that took place in Wisconsin last year were a direct result of deer-car collisions. This number is only expected to rise in the coming weeks.

This weekend in Pewaukee, a car accident left two dead. The car accident happened on I-94 just after midnight when a car traveling the wrong way crashed into a car.
Four separate police vehicles tried to stop the car from causing any harm after being notified by several people on the highway of the wrong-way driver. Both drivers that were involved were pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation is being conducted but as of now, there is no sign of alcohol being a factor. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was a 41-year-old husband who had three children. His widow is devastated and doesn’t know what to tell their children who also feels sorry for the other victim. The operator of the vehicle going the wrong-way was a 44-year-old Wisconsin woman.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims’ family and friends during this difficult time.
